At 0949hrs, Perry County Communications sent the 1st Alarm to the 1900 Blk of State Rd for a Reported Building Fire. Chief 2-1 came on the air and reported a heavy collumn from the borough. Truck 2 (Dep Chief Worner) and Rescue 2 (2nd Asst Chief May) responded and was advised by dispatch that sherrif dept was on scene with a wroking fire and reported woman trapped on roofand requested the 2nd alarm. Truck and Rescue 2 arrived to find a 2 Story, Multi-Purpose Building, with heavy fire on 1st and 2nd Floors. The Rescue crew pulled multiple handlines as the Truck setup its masterstream. Another crew went to rear to make entry for search. It was found that Sheriifs Dept rescued a family from the roof, and the woman trapped on the other roof had reported to jump. Life Lion was requested to scene by EMS and Cumberland Rescue 20 handled the Landing Zone at the School. Crews from multiple counties worked to extinguish the fire and do extensive overhaul. Units worked for about 3 hours before clearing.
We would like to thank Millerstown Tanker 7 and Liverpool Rescue 5 for transfering to our station while units operated. Tanker 7 was later called to scene to assist with water supply.
