Around 0530hrs, Company 2 along with the remainder of the 1st Alarm responded to Noakers Autobody Shop for a reported fire. Chief 2-1 (Br. Worner) and Tanker 2 (Lieut D. Leonhard) arrived to find a large autobody shop with fire showing on the A/B corner and requested the 2nd Alarm. The Tanker stretched a 200' 1 3/4" attack line to begin interior attack. The Squad (FF D. Wise) arrived pulling a secondary 200' 1 3/4" attack line for exterior operations. Crews found a fire near the oil burner. The Squad crew gained access to the attic using a 24' extension ladder. As access was gained, EVAC tones were struck due to the ceiling beginning to bow. Truck 2 (FF Sands) arrived and began to open up the side of the building to get better access to attic. Truck 10 (Newport) and Truck 32 (Progress) arrived later and assisted with roof operations. Shortly after marking control, the Alpha side collapsed. Crews worked for a about 3 hpours before returning.
Thank you to Liverpool Rescue 5 and Fisherville Tanker 216 for transfering to our station while units operated.
